Tips and Tricks for the Treatment of Apraxia and Other Challenging Articulation Disorders

Come explore some strategies and techniques for working with students who are faced with severe speech challenges such as apraxia and severe articulation errors.  Learn innovative ways to use common therapy materials as well as utilizing some more unusual tools.  Participants will gain knowledge of sample activities that can be used to motivate students who may be frustrated by an inability to effectively communicate.

Presented by: Susan Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP

Susan has more than 17 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist with the Scottsdale Unified School District as well as private practice experience both in the home and through a clinic in Carefree, Arizona.  She served on the Autism Task Force through SUSD and is both TEACCH trained and Hanen Certified.
