This knowledge based program is offered in two parts. In the first training on October 1st, 2014, the course will cover information on the interplay between Autism and social skills development and the impact on social interactions with peers in the school setting. The presenter will also cover the importance of friendships for development and positive quality of life outcomes for students on the Autism spectrum. This second part of the course will provide an overview of how the FRIEND Program can be implemented to address social skill development and peer interactions in the natural setting during less structured activities at school such as lunch and recess.
