This session will explore some hands-on ideas for treating speech sound disorders including articulation, phonology, and apraxia of speech to use right away. Discover some common and more unusual therapy materials and techniques to get the most out of your therapy sessions. Participants will gain knowledge of activities that can be used to motivate students who may be frustrated by an inability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Susan Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist who has more than 20 years of experience working in the public schools as well as in private practice since receiving her B.S. in Marketing and Advertising and her M.S. in Communication Disorders from Arizona State University. She served as the Lead SLP for the Scottsdale Unified School District from 2012 – 2022 and recently retired to explore new adventures in the field of speech language pathology.
